At Palace Laundry, our state-of-the-art machinery enables us to work efficiently, effectively and as sustainably as possible. Our facilities cover the full spectrum, from specialist, hand-operated steamers to high capacity washing machines.
Our processes
Handled by a team consisting of management, production managers and laundry operatives, our process is streamlined and efficient. We currently handle an average of 90,000-125,000 pieces of flat work (hotel and restaurant linens) per week, combined with up to 9,000 items of staff and guest laundry. Our batch washes are carefully auto-dosed using digital technology to produce the optimum clean and condition, before being pressed, checked, folded and packaged.
Tracking
We offer the option of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to ensure items are fully traceable from pick up to drop off. These discreet, fully washable chips enable easy tracking of every item, from linens to staff uniforms.
Sustainability
We know that commercial laundries are typically associated with high energy consumption and our goal is to improve our environmental footprint year-on-year.
Our fleet of vans is electric and our two steam generators work on the principle of only providing steam as it’s needed.
Our tunnel washer features a water recovery system, meaning that we are able to recyclemost of our water, using less energy to reheat it for the next wash.
We approach stains on a case by case basis, using extra water and cleaning solutions to treat the individual stain rather than the entire item, helping to extend the lifespan of a fabric in the process.
Towels and robes are packed in hamper cloth bags rather than plastic and our aim is to eliminate plastic packaging and the use of plastic entirely.
Our heat recovery system recirculates hot air from the batch driers.
